Check publication status at the source
Start with the official ISO catalogue. It distinguishes a published standard from a draft and shows amendments and replacement editions. A news headline or a training advertisement is not enough to identify the applicable assessment basis.
Checked on 22 October 2026, ISO's catalogue identifies ISO 9001:2026 and ISO 14001:2026 as their new editions. The catalogue also identifies ISO 19011:2026 as the current auditing guidance. This publication information does not by itself establish CORE's delivery scope or a certificate transition deadline.
Publication and certification transition are separate
An existing certificate should be considered against the issuer's applicable transition arrangements. Publication of a new edition is not, on its own, proof that every existing certificate has immediately become invalid.
Ask the issuer to identify the relevant scheme or accreditation requirements, any official transition decision and the audit arrangements that apply to your certificate. Keep the written answer with the certificate record.
Confirm the edition before booking training
Check the title, edition and amendments in the course outline. Ask whether the course teaches the current edition, an earlier edition still relevant to your work, or a transition between them. These are different learning needs.
For a recognised qualification pathway, verify the course and edition with the body that recognises it. A generic course title cannot establish that a particular transition or registration requirement is met.
Record the impact on your own arrangements
Make a list of affected certificates, documents, courses and planned assessments. Your organisation determines and implements changes to its system; the certification body assesses against the agreed applicable requirements.
Confirm deadlines from authoritative transition decisions and the issuer's written arrangements before scheduling work. This guide deliberately gives no universal transition deadline because the applicable route must be established for the specific service.
Your working checklist
Use this list when discussing your requirements. It helps organise questions and does not determine conformity or certification eligibility.
